Thank you, Azraeil.
Any idea when it'd be available (tentatively)?

Not sure. I only knew about it last week when one of the new hires (who is currently based in single housing in Abqaiq) mentioned about it. Apparently once he brings his family, he will need to find accomodation near Dhahran Surrounding and he mentioned the tower that will be (or have been) leased by Aramco.

imax, Aramco is not building any new company compounds that I'm aware of but at least in Dhahran there is a project to build new housing inside the compound and in previous posts about this, a completion date of 2017 for 675 units was mentioned.
I'm not sure about the other compounds but I'd be surprised if they're not building new houses there also. In RT they have plenty of available space where they demolished a bunch of houses a few years ago (hopefully they left the underground utilities still intact).

Thanks, GW & vpainter.
Vpainter - Would you mind answering if I ask you about the location of this new compound?

The South Dhahran project or Ayjal should be completed by 2018. It's a 3000 units housing development (with schools as well I believe) and all of the facilities similar to the Dhahran compound but this is for Saudi Aramco Local employees who can buy the units using the loans provided by Aramco. With the expansion in the Dhahran compound and the completion of Ayjal, by 2018-2020, the availability of units in the Dhahran compound should increased significantly.

Hi We are arriving Saay and up until Wednesday were told we would be in RT as hubby will be working in RT. We are now going to Khobar, Dhahran Tower. It's 46 floors high with 2-3 bedroom apartments. Total shock to us both as I was looking forward to life by the sea but now am worried about going out as now not living in a camp. We have been told we could be there for one month, three month, six month up to two years.
Does anyone know when this housing problem be sorted and we can live in camp ad promised

You will definitely be closer to restaurants and shopping. Also executives from other companies also live in the tower, so you will have neighbors who are already established there.

Herewego, I would think since I stated it was a new Saudi compound, you would know that means locals.

I think this is the tower Azreil mentioned in his previous post.
Lynsay - Is this an Aramco leased tower? or, an off-camp accommodation? Thanks for your input.

Aramco has leased space in the tower.
