Hi,
I am a Canadian and was called for interview at Houston in March 2014. I was informed after interview that I have been selected and being placed on offer pending status. I was advised to submit my latest pay stubs which I did. I am quite highly paid in Canada. After 5 weeks, I have been informed by the assigned recruiter that department is not giving any offer at this time without any reasoning and may be contacted if the situation changes.
I suspect that my high current salary may be a reason for not receiving any offer. Has this happened to someone else? I have asked my recruiter that I am open for negotiation and at least an offer be sent to me and let me decide if it is acceptable to me. Similar thing happen to another friend who appeared in the interview on same date as I appeared and was selected after interview. He was later informed that his current salary is too high.
Is Aramco offering salaries lower that one is making?
Should I apply for another position or wait for resolution on my current application? Is there a chance of getting offer still after my response to recruiter?
I will appreciate if someone on the forum can help or advise.

I heard that Aramco is a big company with deep pockets. What is your salary (current) and role? Which role did you apply for? Thanks,

Esra,
Salaries are private and not given out in the forum.

msn71,
If you are an upstream field engineer, then the salary is not an issue for Aramco.

I think salary is an issue!
Depending upon your present salary and if Aramco has to match it, your grade code might go up tremendously GC 16 or 17 salary range.

I have been extremely disappointed  by Aramco procedure. I live in Canada and seem to be in similar boat as being somewhat falls into highly paid category in Canada. Below is my selection process detail
12-September-2013 - Interview called for Houston 19-September 2013 - Interview with Saudi 23-September-2013 - Phone confirmation from Houston of passing interview pending offer Wait time ........ 11-November-2013 - Received offer package 14-November-2013 - Signed and accepted the offer without any argument or change request- returned package to Houston. December-2013 - Phone calls in/out with BI investigation which completed in Jan-2013, received confirmation 13-Jan-2014 - Received visa block le with instructions to get degree attested from back home by multiple agencies including MOFA, Saudi Cultural Mission, Saudi Embassy etc. End Jan-2014 - Received Visa Medical Papers which was completed locally 03 Feb-2014- Received kids school admission confirmation in Aramco School Feb-2014 - With enormous hardships educational documents were attested by the required agencies but requested to pick them up personally. Feb-2014 - Booked tickets for 12-Mar 2014 to fly to Pakistan to get degrees from Islamabad after attestation. Received confirmation from re-location advisor that all remaining procedures completed and once I get the degrees attested, passports will be sent for visa stamp. 10-March-2014 - Worst day of my life - received a call from Houston office that because 1 of the unknown contingency was not completed, Aramco revoke my offer. Without any reason about which contingency or requirement was not completed, just a phone call, ruined all 7/8 month of hard work. 12-Mar-14- Went to Pakistan and collected all my degrees attested.
Now someone tell me is this the way the so called big organizations treat professionals? I am extremely disappointment and still confused. I called Houston couple of times to get answers for this decision but I was told to re-apply.
I am not sure if that's the offer or something else but I am still in shock. Now I am running around to get my reimbursable $ back which were spent during the documentation process.

I totally understand your frustration and disappointment. Do re-apply if you want to work for Aramco.
The process is how it goes. This is not like any other company, this is Aramco and it is their process.
It is many times twice as long as your timeline. Yes, one contingency not met, can mess up the deal. You just start the process again. This time you hopefully won't wait around on pins and needles, you will just continue to live your life and when it happens, it happens.
I do understand how you feel, please try not to take the process personally, it is not personal, even if it feels that way. It just is.

Dear Tremblent,
I think you are correct about the money is issue for someone who's current salary is way over the offered position's salary band of Aramco Expat. However, for field engineer with overtime payment in line, it sure is differnt story. One more thing I noticed while I am working for Aramco, the salary band gets wider as GC moves up higher. I know 2 people with GC 15 has base salary difference about 10K. FYI, both are under US payroll.

Hi disappointment.
I'm really sorry to hear about your case and believe something better would be planned for you by the all mighty!
I also have my degree from pakistan and currently work in England.
My degree is already attested by ministry of foreign affairs and hec - I've previously worked in UAE and had to get these attestations for UAE visa.
I now however need to get my degree attested by Saudi culture and then Saudi embassy.
I've been told by Aramco's agent in pakistan (Mackinnon Mackenzie) that I need a letter from Aramco addressed to saudi culture and embassy to get my degree attested from their.
These letters also need to be attested by ministry of foreign affairs and chamber of commerce in Saudi Arabia.
I spoke to my relocation advisor about this, and she said she will speak to her supervisor.
Did you have to follow a similar process?
Can you please advice what agent you used? And tips would be much appreciated.
Thanks
