Hi all!
Firstly, having read a lot of posts on here I've picked up a lot of valuable info regarding work and home life in Saudi Arabia. So thanks to you all for that.
Secondly, having recently received an offer I wanted to check a small detail. The job le is different from the one I interviewed for however the description reads similar. Is this normal? My main concern is that as a result of this the basic wage offer is considerably lower than my current wage though I believe the job to be a big step up in both skill level and responsibility for myself.
I am fully aware that the full package offered is excellent and the opportunity is exceptional, but does anyone believe there would be any negotiation on this wage offer?
I've tried contacting my adviser but he appears to have gone AWOL. Not a good sign in my opinion.
Again thanks for any advice. M1ckey

I know its frustrating, but people go on vacation all the time right in the middle of hiring.
Also, if the recruiters do not know the answer to the questions being asked, they have a tendency not to respond until they have an answer. One of many company cultural differences.
If your current salary is more, then you can try to negotiate for them to meet your current salary. Write a letter and resubmit our pay stubs asking them to meet your current salary. They may up the offer to match or they may tell you this is the offer. Then you can take it or leave it.

I'm sorry to comment in this but I think there is no negotiation. While in Houston for our medical and orientation i receive a call explaining that one of the contingencies was not cleared, they didn't want to say which one was it due "confidentiality issues" but coincidentally previous week I've sent an updated pay slip trying to get Aramco to match my offer with my actual salary.
I'm really sad because I'm not able to know which contingency was not cleared so I can work on it and try for a new opening.
Just my thoughts.
Thanks for everything!

You can apply again. People have been successful the second and sometimes third time around.
