I currently only have a current passport for myself. My wife’s passport is expired, and neither of my kids have a passport yet. We are going into the post office to get this all started tomorrow.
I accepted the offer yesterday, so do I really only have 7 days to get copies of the passports to the BI after first contact? We didn't want to spend the money on passports until I had an offer since we didn't have any plans (or money) to travel internationally.

I have a sane, reasonable response and a really snarky one...
1. Explain the situation to your recruiter, but get it done quickly. 2. Given how long the rest of us have been waiting WITHOUT a passport pending the release of a visa block, it seems that maybe ASC could wait a bit.
Seriously, get on with it, but do explain. It is an element of identification and later necessary for your visa, but there is a ton of other stuff that you need to get done -- all the more than I because you are a family, not just one person.

Agree, with JeffSteiner, i.e. get it done ASAP, including the "rush" service that they offer for passports. Also agree, in that given the lengthy nature of the entire post-offer process, I don't think ASC will have any major issues with this, and I'm sure they've dealt with this before with other candidates. And unless I'm mistaken, from a process standpoint, they won't even touch those passports until you clear BI & Medical, so you probably have at least a month (probably longer) before they really, truly NEED your passports? Also, double-check with your Relocation Advisor, but I believe all those passport fees, and even photos, are a reimbursable expense?

pierce3215,
I had a similar situation. Don't let that slow you down. The main thing is to accept the offer and send it back to them. The offer has a separate envelope so you can get that done. You can also fill out all the paperwork for Visa, BI, and ,medical. Leave the sections where you have to put passport number and / or passport expiration date for your wife empty and fill them out when she gets her passport. There is a lot of information that you need to fill and have nothing to do with passport number nor expiration date. This way when you receive your wife's passport you will only need to fill out very few blanks and your paperwork will be ready to send back immediately. Last thing is you can request the renewal of your wife's passport to be expedited. That way you can get the new passport in a week or so. You will later receive expenses reimbursement form to fill out and the passport fees / expedition fees are reimbursable, you just need to make sure that you are keeping original receipts.

You have 10 days to sign the offer. You have lots, and lots, and lots of time after that to wait for a passport. Go down and apply and make sure that yours has lots of extra pages.
It will be weeks before your background and medical clears. They don't need your passport or passport number until after that.

Thanks yall. If Aramco is going to reimburse us then I will pay extra for the expedited version. We are headed to the post office in a few hours here.
Thanks

Um yeah we had a little one with no passport - I don't remember an offer to reimburse us for the passport nor do I recall being reimbursed for renewal while we lived over there.
You gotta have the passports but I would check with ASC on that reimbursement. To my knowledge they don't. Visas and travel, yes. Passports? Dunno.

I read through all previously posted comments with interest. I however have a slightly different but of similar nature issues. I am currently waiting for my Saudi Visa Introductory Letter (VIL). The passport information I provided to my recruiter (that I believe this VIL is going to be based on) is valid for more than a year and have about 20 blank pages. I just wanted to check if the number of blank pages are fine or should I consider applying for a brand new passport with lots of blank pages? Getting a nee passport is not an issue. However this might then trigger the whole VIL process start from the beginning once again and will no doubt add stress to already long waiting time following acceptance of Aramco offer.
Appreciate if someone can offer a piece of advice or share their experience.
Regards,
KJ

If as you wrote that you have 20 blank pages in your passport, you are fine.
