Howdy all,
My name is Ron and I'm American. I recently received my offer on Thursday, 4/3/14, for a new position--Advertising Copywriter (visa le Public Relations Specialist II). I've done my research on life in KSA but haven't found much on the Aramco working environment. Are men and women segregated at work? I work in creative and thrive on the interplay of ideas and collaborating with co-workers to generate innovative concepts. What can I expect at Aramco? Do co-workers sometimes go out for lunch together and unwind after work? I enjoy the usual office camaraderie. What is the work culture there?
Of course, the money and benefits are great and it would be a life-changing experience. But money isn't everything and every job I've had has been life changing. I need to decide by Thursday, 4/10/14, so I'd appreciate any feedback. Thanks.
Cheers, Ron

It is a different culture, but people do go out to lunch together and do socialize after work. The work place is not segregated.

Hi there Ron (copyboyrc),
Looks like I have discovered a future colleague.
Like you, I too will be joining Saudi Aramco in the PR Dept, specifically as International Media Relations Specialist II.
Your recruitment journey has just begun and if I can offer one valuable advice - patience is key.
I received my official offer back in September 2013, cleared all contingencies (BI, medical, degree attestation etc). Everything moved swiftly until I got stuck in the dreaded visa block phase along with so many other future Aramcons.
It has been six months now and everyday, I pray that my visa block will be issued soon so that I can depart for KSA and start work immediately.
I suggest you join another popular thread in this forum led "Visa Block". Everyone in that thread are waiting for their visas.
Hope to see you in the Kingdom soon!

Thanks for the advice, Ridzuan. I appreciate it. After much deliberation and soul-searching, I declined the offer last week. It just wasn't what I wanted to do at this stage in my life and career.
So, I won't be joining you in KSA. I hope your visa troubles are soon over and you're on your way!
Ron
