Hi, can I ask for advice. My job offer states that my days off and work day residence is Abqaiq Senior Housing Community, but I was told by the agency that due to tight housing situation chances are that my family and I would have to live off camp. We prefer to live in-camp. I have two children aged 14 and 12. I am Asian, offered a GC 12, family status job. Please advise what to do. Can we contact Aramco HR directly? Can they provide assurance that we get an in-camp family housing? Please advice.

If your offer states ABQ, I used to would have said, you will be in ABQ. Currently with the housing shortages in all the compounds, people are being offered a housing allowance to live off camp, the ones I know about that are new hires, their offer has stated they would be living off camp. Some people have arrived and instead of DHA or RT or ABQ, they have been placed in Rakah, which is an Aramco compound.
Should you be given housing off camp, then you would still live in a compound with security, just not owned by Aramco.
I hope your offer is correct and you live in ABQ.

Thank you for your reply vpainter. If i understand you correctly, if my offer states ABQ, there is still a chance that I would be assigned to stay off camp. I am Asian would you be able to say where I would probably be assigned to live with my family? Will that be chosen ahead by Aramco or do I need to find one once I get there?

When you are given a housing allowance to live off camp, I believe you find your own accommodation. Aramco only assigns on camp housing. I do not know how they would handle your arrival. Hopefully, someone on the forum will have experience with this and can give you an answer.
