We have had conflicting reports on being able to buy a king-size (US King) mattress in KSA, mostly that they are unavailable. We want to take cash-in-lieu but need a big bed. Can someone let me know if top of the line (we're looking into the Beautyrest Recharge line right now) mattresses can be bought in a US King size?

I haven't seen beautyrest, but there is a Sealy Mattress store. King Koil is here. Ikea has mattresses. And others.

Ikea has big beds and sheet sets to go with them that are of good quality.
I wish we had taken cash in lieu. We moved here in August and it took almost 6 months to settle the insurance claim on the extensive damage and theft from our sea shipment.

ERW, I am sorry you had damage and theft with your shipment. Thank goodness your experience is the exception and not the rule. Many shipments come in here, we would be hearing from people if they were having your experience. Yes, over the years others have had damage and loss. More than likely it wasn't theft, but the fact that has always happened when a shipment has been searched, it was mixed up with someone else's shipment and they received your things by mistake.
That is why it is very important to label everything in your shipment with your name, badge number, compound you are going to, KSA
You can make these labels with self printing address labels, removable file folder labels, etc.
Stick them on everything including your shipment boxes.
