We are pleased to be told that a job offer will arrive sometime next week! While my husband is positive that the job offer and benefits will be superior to what we currently have, I, as a stay-home mom is far more concern with the well-being of my children (2 and 4 year old).
So, here are my deal breaker questions and I hope someone can help me:
1) Can my husband go first and our family join him within 12 or 18 months? This is because I really want my daughter to finish another year of school here. Long story short, my daughter is supposed to attend PK4 next school year, but she has been accepted to attend Bridge-Kinder (same as Kindergarten curriculum, but it's call BK because of birthday cut-off). Basically, she is ahead of her peers academically.
2) If family is allowed to join later, how much later? Is there a time limit as to when your family has to move?
3) While waiting for family to arrive (assuming yes to the above), will my husband be placed as a Single status first then switch to Family status? Read numerous post saying that housing is pretty much set once you arrive, I would prefer him to obtain a 3 bedroom house so he won't have to move again when we arrive.
4) To verify, is there an elementary and middle school in EVERY Aramco compound? Would hate to be placed in one compound where kids have to do 30 mins bus ride to go to school.
5) Is there a PK3 in other compound besides Rakah?
6) What is a PK3 and PK4 curriculum like? Hours? Are they taught by certified professionals?
7) Is it possible to find swim lesson and piano lesson 3-5 year olds?
8) Are the community pool heated for mild winter swimming?
9) We have been to Dubai and my opinion is too hot for kids to be playing outside. But, never been to Saudi. Is it possible for kids to play outside in the summer?
10. Currently it is impossible for my husband to take more than 2 weeks off (all in a stretch). Given the generous vacation time at Aramco, are employees allowed to take 3 weeks off (all in one stretch) to make a real nice long vacation?
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help me resolve some of these questions. We consider ourselves very blessed with the opportunity, and would hate to miss out on something that we may regret later.
