I was wondering... Has anyone received an offer stating you were living in one compound and working in another and did you ask Aramco to switch you? Were you successful? Did it take a while for the company to get back to you? I know housing must be a nightmare to coordinate!
My relocation adviser said they would ask the ruling powers, but I was just curious if anyone else had any experience with a similar situation, especially if they are a teacher!
I was extended an offer teaching in RT and told I would love living there so I started research on it. Well I know that their word doesn't consute policy in an interview, but I guess I got my hopes up. I thought for sure they would want a teacher to live in the same community they work in for the sake of tutoring, after school activities, extra curricular activities, and having a teacher who really cares about the place they live and teach/ is a real community member.
I'm sure Rakah is a great place to live too. I just think I could use the time it would take me to get to and from work to make a difference and help kids instead of riding on a bus. Granted I could grade papers or something if I had space and it didn't make me motion sick...Plus I kind of wanted my children to go to the same school community I worked in...

There are many employees living in one compound working in another.
Many have asked to be in a certain compound. Over 10+ years I have only heard of one person being successful with that request. I of course do not know everyone, so others may have been successful. It never hurts to ask. They just may say no.
Your children might could go to the school you teach in if you ask. They'd just have to go on the bus with you or ride with you.
