I'm a new hire as a teacher for, most likely DHA, waiting to pass contingencies. I'd like to hear other recently-hired teachers' experiences, especially the following:
1. Timeline--since school always starts in the fall, was your timeline truncated at all? How did Ramadan make in impact on the Saudi Govt. part of the process? 2. Classroom--what is it like? How many students? What is your professional relationship like with your classroom assistant? 3. Commute--where are you teaching, where do you live? 4. Trailing spouse--what kind of employment options have been explored?
If you have any insight, please elaborate...doesn't need to be specific to the above.
Thanks, Teacher

Lots of views, but no replies. Maybe Aramco Schools teachers aren't on the forum very often. If you know a teacher, please encoue them to read and respond!!!
Thanks, teacher

I am not a teacher, but will answer some:
1. Teachers hired for the next school year, are usually here prior to school starting.
2. Classrooms are colorfully decorated and Aramco supplies plenty of supplies for teachers to enhance teaching. The number of students are growing. Depends on what grade you teach as to how many per class. 15 to 23. Again, depends on what grade you teach, whether or not you have a teacher assistant. There are parent volunteers that assist in the elementary grades with special projects, reading, etc.
3. You normally live in the community 5 to 15 minutes commute. Although, teaching in DHA, you could be living in Rakah, teaching in DHA - with a 30 minute commute.
4. Spouses (wives) in DHA are able to find work as casual employees in different areas of the company. Although, this can take some time and for a friend of ours, who was an engineer, it took 4 years for her to be hired. Once here, your wife would go to HR and apply for jobs that are available that she qualifies for. Some wives work in the local community, but when she does that, you are not guaranteed vacation time together.

o, I applied for a teaching position on their website when I heard about the teacher fair in Feb 2014. It was only a week before so when I didn't hear back I forgot about it. I figured I was too late. Well to my surprise, I got a call yesterday asking if I was still interested. I said yes and today I get a call about scheduling an interview. I said yes so I interview tomorrow! I have been looking but everyone's timeline seems to be different. My burning question is this: I will need to know whether I am hired kinda quick. Our district starts planning for fall in April. My principal will be having us sign our notices of intent. I am thrilled and nervous! Sandi

Hi all,
I'm new to this forum and also a teacher, currently waiting to apply for a direct hire position, which are currently on hold, to my knowledge. I'm an ESL Teacher based in the UK, so I guess I wouldn't qualify for teaching in Aramco Schools? From my understanding and from what I have been reading, Aramco prefer US Nationals? In fact, there are a number of things that this forum has confirmed for me, which has been great as the application process can be quite stressful. However, I'm trying to be realistic and allow at least a couple of years for applying for teaching roles.
It's a shame that there aren't as many teachers posting on this forum. I have found other sources of social media very useful in getting respsonses from fellow teachers.
As I'm new to the forum, I'm not sure what I can and can't say. Having read the horror stories regarding recruitment route hire, I have decided to steer clear of using them. This will certainly decrease my chances, but as I have a wife and daughter to think about, it's important that I am able to provide the best possible support for what would be a big move.
I was hoping to get an update on teacher recruitment for this year. I was informed by the HR team that recruitment was on hold until at least the summer period. I know that there was a mass recruitment drive for teachers last year, so maybe I missed that ship! Hopefully, positions will come available this summer.
Your thoughts would be much appreciated.

o,
My wife and I are both currently Middle School teachers in Charleston South Carolina. I am a science and she is Social Studies (I have been teaching for 6years and wife 9 years). We both have are Masters (one in administration other in educational Leadership) and are both certified as Highly Qualified . We currently have a 7th month old baby. My questions if you can answer are as followed:
1. Do the job fairs help you get hired? 2. Does Aramco hire husband and wife (with a child) team? 3. Is it worth joining the ISS web cite for vacancies? 4. Where can I find contact information for more information from Aramco? 5. If I wanted to send a video introducing my wife and I who would I send it to? 6. Does Aramco hire teachers with children? or do they try to stay away from married couples with children?
If anyone can help us that would be greatly appreciated?

Teachers do get hired from Aramco job fairs and teacher job fairs where Aramco has a booth.
Yes Aramco hires husband and wife teachers. They do not care if you have children or not. Childcare will be your responsibility. Many hire live in nannies. Which you can take care of through HR once you arrive.
Sent you an email.

o,
My wife and I are U.S. teachers hoping to be hired by the Saudi Aramco Expatriate Schools for the 2015/16 school year. Vpainter, you mentioned sending an email to some people with information regarding teaching. Could you send the same email my way?
Thank you,

Dimk, no job fairs are held in Aramco. Aramco representatives attend job fairs in other countries.
Job fairs Aramco may attend or hold are listed in the two websites at the bottom of this page.
Aramco schools participate in International Schools job fairs for teachers in other countries.
I do not know how often they participate in job fairs.

Vpainter, could you provide or maybe tell me where I can find information about the Aramco job fair for teachers? I have seen it mentioned on other recruiting sites as taking place in Houston in January, but cannot find information on it anywhere on the Aramco website. Thanks so much.
