Hey everyone - I just got my offer and it is very enticing. Nothing is mentioned about long term incentives. The company I'm with right now provides stock options as well as restricted stock units that vest over 3 years. Obviously, stock options and RSU's aren't going to be part of an expat offer but I'm curious as to what the company does to retain their employees. Maybe I'm missing something in the whole Deferred Benefit Supplement (DBS) but this looks very similar to a 401k/RSP matching type of scenario.
Basically, comparing apples-to-apples (as best as I can) I don't see any long term incentives in here. At my current job even if I sell a little bit of options or RSU's each year it is still a substantial amount of money. If anyone can help shed some light on this I'd really appreciate it!
Thanks! O&GEngg

Assuming you are on the US payroll here are the long term incentives:
1. At five years you are vested in the Retirement Income Plan. 2. You are vested from day one in the 401k plan which is matched dollar for dollar up to 9%. 3. We now recieve an annual bonus that is calculated based on your base salary, company performance factor, and personal performance factor.

O&GEngg,
Congratulations on the offer. I am anxiously awaiting mine! I have been in contact with a guy who interviewed the same day as me in Houston (Feb 19). He just got his offer, and is most excited about the "end of service" benefit. He mentioned that if "you stay long enough", it can be really significant. He is in Planning, so I'm not sure if the benefit package is the same as yours.
I hope others can chime in with more specific and useful information.

You might want to take these discussions to PM. This forum may well have people from departments such as HR (re: seeking feedback from each other on counter offer plans)
Just sayin'.
