My husband has signed an offer and we are currently in the process of completing BI and Health checks.
I've been reading some of the reasons why visas are not given due to health reasons and I find it perplexing to say the least. So a couple of questions:
1) mild asthmatic conditions (i.e. puffer required only when temps drop in the minuses)
2) mild anxiety requiring low dosage prescription
3) do we need to complete medicals in Canada? or is it that we complete the health questionnaire here and medicals are completed upon arrival?
Can anyone assist in providing some clarification as whether these are conditions that would cause clearance rejection?

No one can tell you for certain about any medical approvals. But my opinion is that what you are describing would not be a problem for coming here. Each medical review is done by an Aramco doctor and it will be his/her opinion that counts.
Medicals are usually done prior to coming. If coming from Canada, ASC in Houston will let you know where and when. Sometimes they fly you to Houston for orientation and the medicals are scheduled to be done then also.
Some of our regular posters from Canada will hopefully tell you how their medicals were handled.

You can do your medicals in Canada , ours , we have done it at Montreal and the orientation by video conference. Just you can choose a medical clinic and show them all the test that you want to do, then you scan and send the results to Houston to check that every thing is complete before you send the copies via Fedex.

I was flown to Houston (in on Monday, overnight, and then back on Tuesday) at the beginning of December. As "vpainter" notes, each is probably different in terms of assessment, but I would also agree that what you have noted is likely NOT problematic.
If you fly down from Canada, you will be given a package at the hotel so that you can submit self-collected specimens; they will draw blood, test vision, do chest x-ray and check blood pressure. Then a review of allergies, surgeries, and pre-existing diagnoses, etc. with the physician. As far as I know this is all to screen for persons who are likely to be or to become a drain on health care provision (including time off work for illness) while in KSA. It is a visa requirement to be sure, but the criteria for "passing" are not published anywhere that I have seen.
You will have to submit a pre-screening questionnaire that is included in the offer package. I am not sure how or if this is reviewed in Houston (although it would seem prudent to do so to validate the expense of flying you in!).
Last point -- I believe that the degree to which any pre-existing conditions would affect obtaining a visa are directly related to the nature of the work that one will be doing in KSA. Someone with a heart defect would likely have trouble getting work in Operations whereas someone with a psychological disorder or HIV simply wouldn't get in. As I said, "I believe", not "I am certain".
Hope this helps.
