Offshore bankaccount

Being a Canadian and wanting to ensure that I can be considered a non-resident for tax purposes I will be opening an offshore account. I haven't decided which country to do so in but was originally thinking Switzerland. I've read others doing so in Bahrain. From my perspective, in order to avoid any potential back taxes if I return to Canada I need to ensure I severe as many ties as possible. Essentially, I need to make it look like I'm leaving and never coming back. Hope this helps!
