I hate to ask this question because of its negativity, but I really need to know if others are having our experience and how they are addressing the issue. My problem is the US based Relo Team. We are US based but on Global Payroll. I cannot seem to receive a straight answer out of anyone. I realize I am probably asking harder questions than most since we have lived overseas twice before but things as simple as "Can I have the applicable EAP Guidelines?" have not been cleanly or clearly addressed. I was sent a set of EAP guidelines by Relo dated 08/2010 early in the week. I asked relo if these were still applicable and if not, can I have the new ones. No answer and I was bounced to recruitment. Still no definitive answer. Relo gave my husband the US Benefits package by mistake. When we asked for the Global package, we were told they don't have it in digital form. Hard to believe from a company that has what appears to be the latest in technology. Has anyone else had difficulties with US Relo and if so, how did you address the situation?

You do not say, do you have children old enough to be eligible for EAP? EAP is not usually addressed in your offer unless you have eligible children.
The relocation agents in the U.S. are very aware that things have been changing in KSA. They probably do not want to give you information that they do not know if its still accurate.
Communication is a challenge faced here.

Yes, we have a high schooler. We were told to apply to DHS immediately owing to their "current high enrollment". My husband has not been formally advised of clearing med, BI, or visa, so this 1) seemed quite early and 2) made us think we needed to consider other options for our child; hence, the need for the EAP guidelines.

The EAP Guidelines in the system is currently from 2010. It has not been updated. There have been multiple personnel announcement with regards to amendments and changes to the EAP policies and these new policies have not been updated into the EAP guidelines. I have asked for a newer version but even personnel told me that the version they have is the 2010 version. Maybe they are working on a new one because 4 months ago, they announce some major changes to the EAP policies.

azraeil,
Thanks so much. That helps quite a bit. That is all I needed to know is that an updated set of guidelines has yet to be published. We will work with this set until being told there is something else.

I, too, recommend you apply now at DHS if you think you would like your child to attend there. You do not have to commit until you have paid the deposits.

PawleysGirl,
No problem, just bear in mind that the policies has had major changes recently.

I appreciate this thread, as it seems to directly relate to our current challenge. My husband is on American payroll & is already working in KSA on bachelor status. We are currently in process of converting to family status. Question is this: Our oldest boys are entering 9th & 11th grades, and have been accepted to boarding school stateside. Given these new and changing policies, is our 9th grader eligible for tuition reimbursement? We seem to get conflicting answers from HR people on both sides of the ocean.

What is the minimum age/school grade to be eligible for tuition reimbursement for children of American payroll attending boarding school in the U.S.?

Has been 10th grade. I understand they are considering to allow 9th graders to be eligible, but do not know if that has come about.

vPainter - yes, US payroll students are now elligible for EAP beginning with the 2014/2015 school year. There was a corporate announcement email sent out on 24 October last year.
