Hi,
My kids don't get vaccination and I opt not to allowed then to be vaccinated. I found out that there will be no exempt to send kids to school. I plan doing home school. Is there any family in Aramco doing home school for the same reason ?
Regards, Gugu

I have sent you a contact who was homeschooling. Do not know if it was for that reason.
Please check your junk/spam folder if you do not receive it. Sometimes emails from KSA end up there.

Team: May I have some information regarding who may be homeschooling in the Dharhan or Rakah compounds? Also, respectfully, can someone please see their way clear to helping me understand what an educational MOU is? (Memorandum of Understanding - of what?) Also since we will be homeschooling, how does the EAP program work for us or does my husband speak to his department head when we arrive? Any small bit information is very much appreciated.

If you are homeschooling your children, you will not get EAP. The kids will receive their repat monies for when you go on repat.
Homeschooling is done but is not an official option. Usually the kids are accepted by the Aramco school system and then you homeschool. There is not a homeschooling group that I know of here.
You may need to rethink your decision to not vaccinate your children because of where you are coming to live and the world travel you will probably do once here. Children who are older do not require as many vaccinations and have less problems with receiving them. Many people who have not vaccinated previously for many reasons have vaccinated once here.
I cannot help with the MOU.

Hi VPainter: Thank you so much for the information. My Relocation Advisor had made me aware of the process, thankfully. Our daughter had already been rejected by the Aramco School due to her Medical Contra-Indication for Life. However, I was unaware that there were other local/international schooling options. So verbatim, I assumed I had to homeschool; hence the post requesting some information. But thankfully, today our Relocation Advisor emailed a list of alternative education suggestions along with the MOU, (which conveys that basically we are responsible for her education and that we will educate her), to help as she could. My child cannot medically be vaccinated, unfortunately. We know this is rare and not many school nurses are aware of this occurrence. She has been prescribed a Medical Contra-Indication for Life as our doctor knows we are interested in working overseas and insisted we have this done to save-guard her life during international travel/assignments. I'm to carry it on me at all times while not in the U.S. In the U.S. this document is not necessary, as in the U.S. vaccinations are a choice. We do thank you for the heads up if we should want to travel to another country outside of KSA or the US. We will take deep consideration of the vaccination issues and will only travel to countries which do not require vaccinations for tourists, as well as being mindful of when to travel, to reduce the risk of forced vaccinations. We are looking forward to this adventure! Deepest Thanks.

We are hoping to commence work later this year with Saudi Aramco and we wondered if anybody knew of any people homeschooling their kids in Dhahran as opposed to sending them to one of the schools. Our child is almost 6, bright and sociable but she's not been to school. Ideally we would like to find a small network of similar minded folk to share activities, trips, leaning / adventure. Any advice / guidance much appreciated. Thanks

Hi Palmtree, We are in the very beginning stages of applying for Aramco (interview set), but, if we are fortunate enough to receive an offer of employment, we will homeschool our children there (ages 4,6,9,11). We'd likely be in Ras Tanura, but are also looking for a homeschool group to connect with for the reasons you cited. We'd be willing to travel to join such a group. I was contacted by a lady who homeschools there (I think she was also in Dhahran) and she said there is a small group of homeschoolers who meet up....so it sounds like there might be some options for homeschoolers to socialize a bit
