Hi all, I am still waiting for my offer after 4 months but today I have been contacted by ASC - Houston and the offer is in their hands so it will probably soon I will have it. In preparation for evaluation I would like to have some living cost related questions kindly answered by people currently living in Rakah as I have been told that will be my location: 1. Monthly rent cost and what is included? 2. General grocery / food avee spent by a family of 5 (not exact numbers, just a guesstimation) 3. Are recreational activities for free for residents o fthe compund or they have any fee (gym, other self directed groups?) What about activities in the main compaund? 4. Pre School fee?? 5. Any additional spenditure I might add to my wise decision making tool (just an excel spreadsheet with basic formulations but it is helpful!)
Thanks in advanced for your answers, if something is kind of sensitive please send me PM or email me.

1. Your monthly rent is included in your offer letter. On Rakah, all furniture including new white good appliances, energy, water, internet and local phone calls are included 2. My grocery bill is about the same as it was in London. Some things are dearer, some things are cheaper. As a rule of thumb, anything processed and imported is much more expensive than you would find at home - breakfast cereals for example. Also some supermarkets stock US imported fruit and veg at great expense, when the same more locally produced is available at a fraction of the price. Likewise, for eating out there are some delicious local restaurants which are about a third of the price of a US chain (TGI Fridays, Chilli's etc) and better quality in my opinion. 3. Aramco provided facilities (swimming pool, pool tables, squash, tennis courts, bowling alley etc) are free but any SDG, eg swimming club, tennis club will have its own membership and coaching fee structure. 4. No fee for the on site pre-school that I am aware of 5. Petrol is $0.10 / litre! You can live here quite cheaply if you are willing to compromise a little on what you are used to buying.
