Hi, Since this is my first post, I'll start with a thanks to all the moderators and contributors to this board. The information on here is phenomenal for someone who's considering a potential move to ARAMCO; very reassuring to know one's not alone with a million questions! Now to the subject of my post. Are there any North Americans or other expatriates on this forum who moved to KSA from another Gulf state? If so, did you have to go back to your home country before moving to KSA? If you were able to move directly, were you able to drive in with your vehicle and luggage or did you fly in? If you were able to drive in, could you bring your pets with you? What about electronics, e.g. TV, electric piano, kitchen appliances? Did you bring them and was it worth it or did you just have to replace them with 110 v once you got there? Was your furniture shipment by road or sea? My biggest concern about a potential move is that we've been in the Middle East for almost a decade. Everything we own is here. This includes photo albums, family portraits, and holiday decorations we'd brought from back home and gathered on our travels. Did you bring these things in or did you get them placed in stoe (we had some things in stoe for a few years and they ended up getting a bit moldy so not liking that option). I've read the posts on creative packing, but am just terrified that a wedding photo might be confiscated or blacked out because maybe the bride's arms are showing, etc. Many thanks for any advice you may have.
