Passports were sent to Saudi Consulate in India and few days back reloc advisor told that Saudi Embassy want to have a discussion with Aramco before stamping visas on all passports which are for Aramco hires.

Has it happened to anyone else

Apparently some can and some cannot and the KSA government is requiring them to be scannable.
