Can I please be enlightened on the chances of us being able to bring our Filipina helper who has lived, and worked, with us for 5 years? Both her and us want it to happen but also have to be realistic if it's not going to happen. I understand she has to be in the Philippines, and since we are Canadian it's going to be a lengthy wait between sending her home at the end of her contract with us here in Singapore, to waiting for visas and then waiting for my husbands iqama to go through, before we start the sponsorship process from KSA... We are ok with supporting her until the sponsorship goes through, but need to know (ok, be quite confident) that we can get here there since if it doesn't happen, it's going to be a very lengthy and expensive process for her to come back to Singapore to work with another family. But don't want it to be more than 6 months of waiting... and wondering!
I have searched the forum for other posts to answer this but can't seem to find any. Input is greatly appreciated, and needed, since this is her (and her families') lifeline. I also read somewhere that both spouses have to be working in order to qualify? My husband (teacher) is on contract and I will stay at home with our young ones (3yr old twins and 3 month old) until we have live-in help in which I will teach casually which would hopefully transfer to a more permanent contract. Would we even qualify?
If anyone's experiences tell me that this may not happen, can you advise me on what the process is in getting a live-in helper from KSA? I am only familiar with it in Singapore, in which there are hundreds of agencies with girls ready, and waiting, for interviews- and who can start right away. Very easy to find one as the 'right fit' but also easy to find another one if she turns out not to be... Thank you so much in advance!
