Hi all,
With my interview upcoming I'm so glad to have found this board. Have already had many questions answered due to the thoughtful contributions... Thanks to all!
My question regards single status or family? I am married with two children and have an interview soon. Therefore, I'm a little concerned about what we will do.
Do new hires with families ever get presented with single offers? In that case, the choice being take the job and leave your family for an extended period, or don't take it...
As someone who grew up in the kingdom in the 80's and 90's, it's long been a dream to return; but not at the cost of not seeing my family.
Thanks again

Family status is based on GC. Each position in Aramco is assigned a Grade Code, depending on the position you are applying for will determine your GC. GC 11+ is eligible for family status.

Thanks Vpainter for the prompt reply,
Are there set GC codes for certain positions? Or is it a range depending on a variety of factors?

I was offered a family status but I am now thinking of changing it to single status for the time being until my wife completes her certifications here in Calgary. Would that be OK to ask my Relocation Advisor? My visa le has been cleared but we are waiting on degree attestations.

This is the latest policy changes wrt to Family Status
Family Status All SC 11+ expatriate male employees (all payrolls) are eligible for family status (to the extent possible: No Objection Certificate provisions may still be applicable to some nationalities). Current SC 3-10 family status employees (e.g., U.S./C and multi-lingual SAMSO employees) will be grandfathered.

Go Delayed Family Status, and when you get here, switch to interim Bachelor. You get much more benefits that way, i.e. 50 vacation days (calendar) and two extra trips back home, funded by Aramco.
