Does the U.S payroll have global medical insurance? Your response would be appreciated.

Our U.S. Aetna insurance is a global insurance and there are preferred providers in many countries.

Does the global insurance by Aetna cover one's dependants?

Hi Vpainter,
We have Aetna and I've looked all over their website for a list of Prefered Provider (aka IN Network) outside the US and cannot find anything.. For In-Network the covee is 100% (less co-pays, deductables etc.) and for Out of Network it is 70%.
We have used Aetna outside the US and with an Out of Network proivder and paid the 30%, but I'd like to pay 0% (or as close as we can get).
Do you have a link to a list of non-US IN Network providers?
Cheers

Your Aetna is not Aramco's Aetna Global Policy. Aetna administers Aramco's insurance which Aramco pays all claims. You will not be able to get on the Aramco Aetna website until you are on the policy. Send me an email on where you are wanting to know about, when I have time I will look it up for you. vpainter29@yahoo.com

Someone with UK insurance would have to answer, I do not know.

UK employees are only covered for healthcare inside KSA. You will need to take up a travel insurance policy to cover you elsewhere, including the UK. My mother works for the NHS and they are getting very strict on charging non-residents for any medical care received, regardless of UK nationality.

Travel insurance is easy to acquire through many means: local to KSA (e.g. ACE or Tawiniyah), internationally from your home country, international organizations, or through credit cards. Each of these have their own strength/weakness but the same goal: to get you back to KSA where you have full covee so they can stop paying. Usually you will need to pay the expenses and apply or reimbursement through your insurance company, but this is generally a policy specific scenario.
Insurance is not much of an issue but is an obsession for one of the nationalities in particular ;-)
