crooner: when we type abbreviation of Relocation Advisor, the website prints it as ##. Perhaps they have automatic filters for few words...

Received via email from my relocation adviser this morning:
"Nothing new today. In our weekly meeting last week my manager told all of us that Saudi Aramco is working with the Saudi government to get the issue with the visa les resolved. He was told that very high officials in the government has authorized the approval for the les - so we are just waiting."
Don't want to necessarily hype this, but it was unsolicited (I did not ask her for an update), so clearly they are as anxious, confused, and hopeful as we all are.

re: "Saudi Aramco is working with the Saudi government to get the issue with the visa les resolved. Perhaps a follow up Tweet might help!! :-) Did you all hear this story this morning on NPR? www.npr.org/2014/04/14/302858828 ... to-twitter "Saudi Arabia's chief of the royal court has tweeted for the first time since activating his account in 2012. Kelly McEvers talks to Ahmed Al Omran, who covers Saudi Arabia for The Wall Street Journal."

So who volunteers to "take one for the team" and send a twitter request to get to the bottom of this delay?

I think that that might be a risky move colleagues! If everyone in the boat were to drop a tweet or two, the overwhelming response might completely discoue any further use! Can't really be sure that we would be reaching the right ears either...
I have heard from another of our comrades-in-arms that there is definitely something in the works following an inexplicable 3 month embargo; sources are indefinite and vague, so I wonder that it might just be more of the same -- hurry up and wait. No false hope, just more grist for the mill -- the rumour mill, that is.

Well at least your spirits are high and we even can have some humor to enjoy ourselves during these long months of waiting. No worries the burning sun of Saudi is just there waiting for us to arrive...days are getting warmer... Something like 38C..

Excellent point. I am thinking our future colleagues are roasting about now.
Around early May I am thinking that our anxious check-ins with ASC will probably need to get reduced to approximately every 4-6 weeks, at least until September or so.

Thanks for posting this, JeffSteiner. And thanks for all the other posts with reminders to remain optimistic. When I woke up this morning, I felt quite dispondent: thinking it's mid-week again, mid-April... (I received my offer in September with an ETD of December.) So what I've read here today has made me more hopeful again. Also, in the 'Timelines' thread, someone mentions that their visa le was issued on the 31st of March. What makes my situation especially difficult is that I'm unemployed. I had arranged everything for a December departure. I know this is not Aramco's fault, however. It all feels so unreal - I can't imagine what it will feel like when it actually becomes a reality!

Don't have a clue how someone got their visa le on March 31st.
Actually I have seen two people now who got their visa le in March. This is testing my patience!!!

Amazing phenomena: Our impatience is inversely proportional to the KSA local ambient temperature
