Hi mtbuk,
I will attend the orientation this Thursday, 14 of August. How about you? You might need to ask your reloc adv about that. By the way BI takes only 15 working days so it should be cleared by now. May I ask the name of your reloc adv?

ITGuru,
You will receive a letter from Aramco telling you all your contingencies have been cleared: BI and Medical. Your job still depends on degree attestation and obtaining a visa.
This can all take time.
It is my understanding (which may not be accurate) Visa blocks are actually requested by all companies 2 or 3 times a year. The company has to mostly guess what kind of visa they are going to need. The have to list le, nationality, gender, etc and if you are then hired and match one of these pre-requested visas it goes quickly. Otherwise you are waiting as they request a visa that is specific to you and then it is wait on the government to issue the visa blocks.
Patience is the key.

Thanks vpainter for information. I received my confirmation that I have cleared the BI and Medical on 11 August 2014. Now waiting for visa block. Hopefully will be good news soon So excited for new challenges and an awesome place to be in. I have previously worked in Qatar which is not far from Dhahran and familiar with the GCC, quality excellent family time and loads of quality work challenges. I am sure we will all be smiling once we all get there. Patience and being calm is no doubt the key. A piece of advise that as much helpful and quick you will be in responding to queries raised to yourself as an applicant the easier, faster and clearer it makes the process. AOC London is no doubt very helpful, friendly professional and guide each step through this logical procedure.

ITGuru,
Congrats. You just reminded me back in January. I got BI and school clearance and I was and still am waiting on the visa block.
Patience is key, that's no doubt. Also don't change your life around you until you got that visa stamp on your passport and your final clearance letter, this will make your wait easier and less stressful. Keep your life flowing like it was before.
Visa blocks can be requested by companies in status of being able to contract expacts at least every two months but the release from the ministry of labour and foreing afairs can take from 3 up to 9 months or more, so be patience.
It's not guaranteed that your visa le is requested before you got your BI clearance so you might end up getting it after a while. Every timeline is normal, still you need to be aware that there are a considerable amount of people waiting for it since January 2014, so it's better to be ready for the wait and if it is released earlier better. Keep your expectations in a moderate level it will save you some stress, visa block will eventually be released, when you just can't tell.....
Regards.

Update to my timeline:
Visa le received this morning!! Wooohooo!! I hope some of you get good news soon as well.
My relo advisor mentioned I should be able to fly out no later than Sept 1st. I agree with the previous posts - granted, some relo advisors are better than others at communicating - but, if you make the effort to reach out to your advisor on a regular basis most of them seem to respond fairly quickly. I've been lucky to have a really good recruiter and advisor who kept in contact with me the entire process.
Once again, I hope the rest of you guys receive your visa les soon!!

o UK_Finance_Applicant, here is my previous timeline post:
o All,
In my efforts to contribute here's my timeline for HR position...
Call from headhunter - Nov 2013 Interview (Houston) - Feb 2014 Offer extended/accepted - Mar 2014 Pre Medical paperwork mailed- Apr 2014 Orientation and Visa Medical completed (Houston) - June 30, 2014 Estimated Departure: Sept 2014
I received the email this morning regarding the arrival of my visa le. I'm not sure how many were received. I'm also not sure if they can give that information out to us... I hope you receive yours soon! My total timeline (from interview) was 7 months (assuming I leave by August 30th).

Congratulations TiffanyRena!
Any inside info from AOC London regarding the visa block release? I assume that since the ASC in Houston received some visa les, the same thing will happen here in London soon. Based on my rel adv a visa block might be release second week of August. Thanks, CK.

Congratulations and good luck to visa winners A question I have in mind is that based on some previous posts I have read in same thread as well. Am I thinking correctly that when a "one visa block" is released, is it utilised and assigned AOC and ASC at same time?

Not exactly, visa blocks don't have to be released and sort out to Houston and London at the same time, it happened before that London got some les and Houston didn't, the opposite is also true. Both locations have different nationalities to relocate and different times of processing the les received by Aramco in Saudi.

And the visas are required to state the nationality so they are not interchangeable.

Hi all, I am happy to report my husband received his visa le today! We are very excited but a little worried too. One of our biggest concerns has been with schools for our children. We will not arrive until well after the new school year has begun, sometime in October. There is a waiting list for Dhahran High School so our daughter is registered in the Bahrain International School. We are worried whether they will hold her spot and if they will allow a student to start mid semester.
Our time line: interview - March 6th job offer - end of March negotiations- early April Signed contract - early April BI and medical cleared - end of May visa medical cleared - late June visa le - August 13th visa -
