Email from Houston relocation advisor this am (0814 EDT).
"No visa le today; maybe tomorrow."
I shall, from this point forward, add the following: "No visa le for ME." While I appreciate all that others have offered in this and other threads, there is no guarantee that all of us will receive visas at the same time. In fact, given the number which appear to be pending, it is unlikely that all will arrive simultaneously. Imagine not only the paperwork and coordination necessary in our home countries (and Houston/London), but also in KSA. Having been associated with space management in large organizations world wide dealing with office and lab space, I have a feeling that the workforce in Kingdom might simply be overwhelmed by the massive influx of new hires. I am thinking not only of HR, payroll, orientation, and medical, but also about the personnel who prep the houses, flats, apartments.
It may also be worth considering this -- until our respective relocation advisors have all the ducks in a row (all clearances, le, medical docs, etc.) in place, it would really serve no purpose, be to no one's singular benefit to say that things are ready. How many "urgent" emails would your relocation advisor get in one day, if she or one of her colleagues "leaked" the notice of le release?
I would rather NOT hear that it should be soon -- that particular CD seems to be stuck on repeat -- and would prefer to receive an email "Pack your bags, your flight is booked."

o i have confirmation from my relocation advisor that a visa block was indeed approved by Saudi authorities but it is insufficient to cover all job les or nationalities and Australian's were NOT on this visa block. So Aussie hopeful we have to keep waiting. I am told that another visa block is imminent so we have to keep our fingers rossrd.

Well it seems their is good news. I received notification from the visa agent in Melbourne that Aramco had contacted them ( Bayside ) and the visa block has been approved which obviously must be for Australians and we are to expect the letters of invitation next week. I have been asked to courier my passport back to them so they ate ready to send to the embassy.

Is the Visa block for the Visa le or something else? What are you all waiting on?
I received the note below from my recruiter last week saying I wouldn't do the medical or orientation until after she receives the Visa le.
"I am currently pending your visa le to schedule you for your Visa Medical Exams and Orientation."
It seems as if everyone else has followed a different process and completed the medical and orientation before receiving the le, unless I am misinterpreting...

Thanks David.
I guess we should wait a few more months before we start listing our house for lease. Our departure date is July 14th, but it sounds like November or December is more accurate based on how long some of you have been waiting.

Pierce3215 .. we are on the same boat. My tentative start is also mid July (during Ramadan) . We still need to go with our visa medical and orientation which we are hoping to arrange with relo adviser after 2 weeks and btw she did acknowledge that the les will be available for us before that. So keeping the fingers cross.
I know few families went with orientation and visa medical earlier than their visa les were issued; based on my personal opinion I guess ASC did learn a lesson not to schedule medical and orientation after this recent visa block delays. We have so many people on forum who went with the whole medical process again.

pierce3215,
Our packing survey / departure date was back in March
No, I wouldn't set up a lease agreeement right now. We almost listed our house in March. Thank goodness we didn't.
It was normal practice to set up visa medical after background, school, and employment medical cleared. I guess with all the re-do's (us being one) they are waiting until visa les are received before they schedule the visa medical.
