Hi, Just something we were wondering about is the housing rent difference. When given an offer, housing was calculated for Dhahran, but then communicated to us that we would be living at Rakah/DLC. I have read many posts saying that rent is reduced etc, How much is the actual rent for Rakah housing ? Will they recalculate the amount and give the difference? I understand that furniture, internet are provided free but that would be a compensation for not giving any commute allowance for DLC residents. Just going through the little details Any information would be helpful. Thanks

Rent is less in Rakkah than in Dhahran. I think someone had said rent is 1395 riyals in Rakkah. We're paying around 2500 per month for our 3 bedroom home in Udhailiyah. So, I think the very much reduced rent with free furniture and internet and TV is the compensation for living in Rakkah vs. Dhahran compound.

According to the information provided to me, family with 2-kids get a 3 bedroom house and the rent is US$488/month. Which is about SR1830.

And "rent" or housing allowance is a payroll deduction, is it not? Meaning, there is no refund; it is simply a matter of how much is deducted from gross earnings.

Yes, it's a payroll deduction.
