Hi everyone.
I would just like to say a huge thank you to all of the contributors to the forum, especially the moderators who have done an excellent job. I've been reading the forum for months and the information here certainly has helped my family and I to come to the decision to relocate. Really guys, thank you.
I have some questions of my own that I was hoping I might be able to get answers for. Any information would be truly appreciated.
1. On the Rakkah compound, is it OK to attach satellite dishes, and drill holes in the wall for the wires? We want to bring our decoder for European TV so our kids can maintain their bilingualism; my wife is Polish and I am British and we're trying to bring our kids up in a bilingual environment. We've lived in Saudi before, so we know we can't get the kids channels and languages that we want there.
2. Does anyone have any information about the preschool on Rakkah? How many hours is it, what times, and is it charged? How many kids go, and is it good?
3. Are there any women there with young children at the moment, and does anyone have contact details? We're coming out with a 3 year old, and a 3 month old. If we can get settled in time, we'd love to have a small birthday party for our oldest so she can meet some kids; her birthday will be just after we arrive. Also, it'd be great if my wife had some contacts so she does not go crazy locked in the house all day with 2 balls of energy, i.e. the kids
4. What is the travel time from Rakkah to Ras Tanura and what times does the bus leave, arrive, etc.? I'll be working in the ITC in Tanura as an ITC Teacher and will have to get the bus until I can get a car sorted.
5. Any updated recommendations for things to bring to Rakkah? I know there is a discussion about things to bring, but I was just wondering if anyone had updated info, etc.
Any information will be really appreciated. Look forward to meeting you all!
