Please note that there is a separate addendum to the Background Screening Form, due to new legislation in the UK, which reads: "You should ignore the question: Have you ever been convicted of a criminal offence?and instead, treat this question as Do you have any unspent convictions/cautions/reprimands/warnings?"This addendum was only sent with the document pack after I had already had to twice fill out the form - without the addendum - both at the interview, and as part of my acceptance email. The BI agency confirmed that they only do a UK Basic Criminal Records Check (standard DBS criminal record check, previously known as a CRB check) which only discloses unspent convictions - see www.gov.uk/dbs for more information. I hope that this information helps someone.

I have received my BI form via my email offer today, it still says 'have you ever been convicted' - I have, an assault charge 7 years ago which is now spent and does not show on a basic check, should I declare this or say nothing?
I am worried that if I don't declare but get past the BI check here, then somehow in KSA my record will be revealed and employment terminated? during residency application perhaps?
if anyone in the US did a check on me it would show up as there is no ''offenders rehabilitation act'' there.
any help would be appreciated
