Just heard that my local transfer pre-approval has been granted.
I have resignation notice period requirements with my saudi company that will go beyond Jan 20th 2014.
1- Can I arrive w/family sooner to start the school on Jan 11, and then give actual joining date later (say Jan 30th or so).
2 - Other than not qualifying for family vacation time for 2013, what are other downsides. Even on the vacation, I am unable to understand.. if I arrive in Dec 2013, I am enled for vacation money at the first anniversary of my joining date (Dec 2014), and if I join in Jan 2014, I will be enled for the same in Jan of 2015.. What am I am missing here.
