o all. . . I'm looking for other individuals who interviewed in Houston this past September for various direct hire teaching positions. I have accepted an offer as an Advanced ITC Teacher in the Industrial Training Department, and am supposed to live and work in Abqaiq. Is there anyone else here who interviewed in Houston for similar positions? And where are you in the process? I've been assigned a badge number, passed the health assessment, gotten my son accepted to grade 1, and am waiting for confirmation that the BI has been completed. My relo advisor emphasized the importance of departing by Dec. 31 in order to qualify for the 2013 repatriation allowance, but I'm not sure things are moving quickly enough to meet that deadline! So, curious to know if anyone else is in the same boat. Looking forward to hearing from you.

I interviewed in Houston on Sept. 25th for a different position. I have cleared all contingencies, and awaiting housing confirmation before travel arrangements are finalized.
The key for me was getting all of the paperwork together before the packages arrived; diplomas, transcripts, references for BI, etc. I even went to the local municipality and pulled a background check on myself. When the documents arrived, I filled them out, made copies and returned them via FEDEX the same day they arrived.
I too, was told that I need to get there by the end of the year to be eligible for the "repat allowance" and at this point I contact my advisor at least twice a week. She initially quoted me a date of the 12th, but that will not happen and we are working toward a departure of the 19th.
I was advised that all U.S hires leave on Thursdays, and provided a list of flights that meet my schedule. I should hear definitively about my new departure date early this week.
The more you can do on your end to help your advisor to help you, the better things will go. You just have to keep in mind that there are limitations, Fridays off in the Kingdom, Sundays off in the U.S. and of course a 10 hour time zone difference.

Hi scarleton. . . thanks for the follow up. Since my last post things have moved along and we're hoping to have visas and tickets ready this week for a Dec. 30/31 departure. Crazy short time frame but we're committed to making it happen!
Hope all is well and chat later. . .
