o everyone, after I got a rejection letter , I was contacted a couple of months later to discuss another opportunity by a totally different person in apparently q a different department, I haven't mentioned the previous experience to the person who I talked to, what's your take on that, how would the fact of previous rejection matter with this new possibility?

Aramco does pass your resume onto other departments. The fact that one department did not choose you, does not mean another one would also.
If you did not reapply, then the first department or HR passed your résumé on.

That's how I ultimately got my offer.
I originally applied online in April, 2012. Got called for an interview in September. Went through the process of interviews, was asked for pay stubs in order to formulate an offer. In December was told that they would not extend an offer. Came in second that time.
August 2013 I was contatcted again for another porsition.Went through numerous interviews, re-submitted Aramco application and pay stubs since they were more than 6 months old. Was told they were putting together an offer. Then got a request for an inteverview by another group. Confused, I asked the recruiter what was up. She said that they were definitely interested in making an offer, but this other group wanted me also- wanting to find the best fit for my skills and their needs.
So the offer came from the initial group. Signed in early Oct. BI and Medical still pending. I had to do a follow-up on a 4 year old knee replacement, which took another week. Houston orientation and visa medical Nov. 12. They have my passport, but I still have not heard about final clearance.
Anyway, internally Aramco does look for other fits for you. I would also encoue people to continue to apply for other positions themselves also. It may take a while (20 months and counting since initial application for me...), but it's worth continuing to pursue.

I think most likely this is what what happened, the only thing that is kindaa strange in my case is that I was contacted by an external recruiting company and not Aramco team...

Congrats cuttlefish for the success, and yes, from what I've been hearing it sounds like it is worth the pain....

Kcpsp, being contacted by an external recruiting company, you will want to find out if you will be a direct hire with Aramco or a contract hire through another company. There will be differences if you are a contract employee: housing will not be on an Aramco compound, benefits will not be the same and length of employment may be different.

The hiring person that talked to me was on the basis of aramco direct hire, she even took a good 20 minutes to go through the Aramco benefits package, this is why I was wondering if she was directed to contact me, or if she just cane across my profile by accident

She would have had your résumé passed to her and she would talk with you.

So you are saying that eventhough it is an external recruiter, most likely Aramco have passed my resume to her?
I actually know a couple of people that were directly hired by Aramco through the same recruiter.
