Hi..
Been lurking for quite a while during my initial process and picked up many many useful pointers.. Tho now have some questions of my own now I have received and email offer..
1. The email offer indicates I must accept within 7 days - is this normal ? 2. Does the FedEx offer get sent whilst waiting for email acceptance or not until the email offer is accepted 3. Can I accept the email offer - but then decline after the FedEx offer (Assuming the FedEx offer contains more details?) 4. What are the normal office hours and days (I've been offered a Head Office/Administration type role) - I see some discussions about a 6day week ? 5. The Rental Assistance is very generous - however does this cover the full yearly rental cost or only part ? - If only part then generally how much of the yearly rental does it cover. 6. I understand on the Aramco website that furniture/appliances are rent free for the first few months - after that what is the nominal type of costs.
Whilst I appreciate that actual coasts are relative to the size of accommodation/quany of rental items I'm looking at an indication of how much extra costs will be incurred due to the living expenses above the generous overall offer..
Very much appreciate everyone's opinions or experience

If you have rental assistance are you a direct hire on the west coast? Or being hired through a contract company? Eastern Province direct hire employees do not usually get rent assistance, they live in an Aramco Compound.

Hi..
My offer indicates that I will be based in Dhahran..
All correspondent has been with either @aramcouk.com or @aramcooverseas.com, so I'm guessing that is a perm role direct with Aramco..
However now reading the offer a bit better it indicates that "housing assignment in a Saudi Aramco community is based on availability nearest to your work location and within commuting distance"
An then mentions that I may elect for Rental Assistance. So I read that as accommodation is provided - however I can go my own way and go for Rental Assistance..
Yes - my mistake I am to be based in Dhahran and am a direct hire.
All comms have been with either @aramcouk.com or @aramcooverseas.com - which I hope is a sign that its a direct hire.
I think I've misinterpreted the information - I believe its saying if I don't take the accommodation offer then I can elect for Rental Assistance.
Many Thanks for all information
Question still remains what are the nominal living costs within provided accommodation
Many thanks !!

Yes, that would be interpreted correctly. ******************************************** Recently posted re rent allowance:

According to the last email issued by Personnel referring to the rental assistance allowance (RAA):
The unaccountable RAA is equal to the lesser of three times monthly base salary plus over base or SR 120,000. **************************************** NOTE: Most rentals outside Aramco require six months to a year's rent up front.

Rent in Rakkah is discounted. $372 (1395 SR) is what we were told prior to families moving in.
TV service is supplied, the TV is not.
Bachelor quarters in Aramco are less than this. Included: All maintenance, local phone service and for bachelors -furniture.

Office hours are generally 7am to 4 PM.
Unless you work in drilling - shift work.
Auditors tend to have longer hours.
I recommend you make yourself go home if you are used to working long hours per day. You will not be expected to work late unless you make a habit of doing so. Enjoy your family/social time, leave at 4.
There are a few groups that the supervisor/manager may require longer hours.
