I was wondering how flexible it is to travel once your probation period is over. Heard that some companies in saudi arabia hold onto your passport and you have to check in/out your passport whenever you leave the country? I am wondering how it works at aramco and if it's easy to step out for the weekend.

touchstone,
Aramco does not hold your passport. They will ask for your passport once you arrive but that is for them to process your Iqama (residence Permit). Once that is done, you are more than welcome to hold on to your passport. Once you get your multiple entry visa, you can go to Bahrain whenever you want (no need to wait for the probation period to be over). Taking annual leave for a short vacation may be up to the supervisor and they usually will want you to finish your probation period first before you start taking leave.
