If I understand correctly from the forum, the houses in Rakkah compound are wired with 110V, except a 220V connection for the cooking range and the dryer. Someone has also mentioned that the choice of 110V appliances and accessories is very limited in the kingdom. I have a few questions regarding this,
1) Is it possible to have extra 220V outlets installed in the kitchen and/or other parts of the house? 2) How limited in the availability of 110V appliances, specifically choppers, grinders, microwave and other similar appliances? 3) What kind of power outlets are there in Rakkah? 2 or 3 pin flat North American or 2 pin round or 3 pin flat European?
Thanks.

We have not relocated yet - still awaiting block visa - but we were told in orientation that a change could be made which would flip all outlets from 110v to 220v.
I am interested to know the answer to your question re: plugs and sockets. Our gut feel is that European standard would be the norm.

Yes it is very easy to convert the existing 110V outlets into 220V outlets (and vice versa). We called Customer Service and they came the next morning. If what you meant is adding 'new' outlets it's probably going to be difficult / impossible.
110V appliances are very limited.
The 110V outlets are 3 pin flat North American. The 220V outlets are 3 pin flat, but I think it's different from the UK/European. But don't worry all kinds of converters are widely available in the stores.
