I have several young kids and am expecting, pending offer, to move to KSA soon. How do braces work for kids there in Dhahran? They'll be at the age when braces are needed. I realize there are orthodontists there - but how is the cost of braces for kids covered? Do Aramco employees sign up for dental insurance, and then pay part of the cost (80/20) of the orthodontia? Thanks for any insights you can provide from past experience.

ARAMCO does not have any dental insurance. All dental including orthodontics is by payroll deduction. Our boys braces were divided between 3 different payroll deductions throughout the course of treatment. Beginning, middle and end. The cost is about the same as in the U.S.

What sort of prices are you looking at. Have just moved here and my oldest son will have to have braces? We were on the national system in Germany so have no price indications.

It has been several years ago, one of our boys it was 2800USD+ and the other was 3000USD+ Taken as a payroll deduction spread out in 3 or 4 payments over the course of the treatment.
