We have just started the process, we curently reside in queensland and applied through a recruitment agency. We have a number of quetions 1. The recruitmet agent said aramco wanted to interview by skpe, how long does it take to organise? 2. Hubby has applied for pd training advisor, any suggestions on possible interview questions? 3. If succesful, are we able to all go together or does he have to go first? 4. How long does the whole process take? 5. We have 4 children, what size house are we likely to get? 6. Our two eldest girls have dyslesxia, both have avee to above avarge IQ but a number of barries. Not to the extent that they need special education but would this impact on their application to the school. 7 there was some indication the company holds onto your passport, why? 8. If we are coming from oz, whay payroll would we be on? As I have seen some talk about a global payroll?
Any info from aussies would be greatly appreciaed about your experiences with he process.
can any aussie let use what your experience has been like coming from oz, did you get a relocation agent ect

Not Aussie,
1) the interview time just takes all parties to the interview to be present. If someone is on vacation, it may take time to get the interview together. If that person returns but another is gone now, then it takes longer still. Please do a search for "timeline" on the forum and read the length of time it takes from many new and not so new anymore employees. Each timeline is normal and most are different.
2). Please read under Frequently Asked Questions (the first discussion group on the index page) about the interview.
3) Some employees are required to come over first and then apply for their family visa. Some employees are required to come first and complete their 90 day probationary period prior to applying for their family visas. Others are allowed to travel together. Your offer will tell you what you will be allowed to do. I do not know what the criteria is that they are using to decide who gets to bring families when they come and who has to wait.
4). Again read the timelines: the whole process can take a couple of months to over a year. All are normal.
5) 3BR with a study, study has closets and could be used as a BR.
6). If they are not requiring any special needs, then there probably will not be a problem, but each child is evaluated individually and no one can tell you what would be decided.
7). Sme companies in KSA do, but not Aramco. You have to submit it when you first arrive for resident visa and iqama but after that may pick it up. Should someone try to keep it in the passport office, just tell them you are going to Bahrain. You will get it right back.
8) . Do not know, hopefully an Aussie will reply.

Hi,
Your hubby will be on Sterling pound payroll and the global payroll should not affect this arrangement.
From what I understand, the embassy in Canberra does not allow dependants to accompany employees in the initial travelling to Saudi, but employee is able to sponsor them once he gets his residency (provided he is on family status offer).
Cheers, Kimo

If he is being hired after Nov 1 (which would appear to be the case) then he will be affected by the new global payroll. According to the announcement of it:
Effective November 1, 2013, new hire expatriates, who previously would have been hired on the Canadian Dollar, Pound Sterling and Euro payrolls, will now be hired on the Global Payroll.

The currency used for the global payroll is US dollar. There is a currency protection scheme available, similar to the one currently in effect for non-UK personnel hired on the sterling payroll.

Thankyou for all the responses, two more quick questions:
The recruitment agency has said all interviews have been put on hold and they will contact when they have been rescheduled, is this normal? how long can it be?
Also how do I PM someone, I did receive a message but can't work out how to reply :? .
Thanks again

Aussie hopeful,
Until you have completed the approval process on the forum, you do not have PM privileges. You can receive PM's but not send any. Please read frequently asked questions under the first discussion group on the index page.
