There are multiple services available. If you're into movies and US shows then OSN will be a good choice (a bit pricey though).

Thanks azraeil,
How will we learn about these services? Is it by word of mouth or will there be any information in the house when we arrive? How long does it take to get the internet connected?

There will be a phone list in your home on arrival and a notebook with information for you.
Community Information Center can help if you do not find the information about TV Satelitte Companies.
ARAMCO Internet service can take a couple of days up to a couple of weeks to get connected. Most of the time it quick, occasionally it is longer.

Thanks vpainter.
How is the speed of Aramco internet service. Is it ok for streaming movies and music?
How can we get a temporary internet connection until the Aramco service is connected?

Welcome! When you arrive, I suggest you ask a neighbor if you can connect to their Wi-Fi until yours is connected (it's free, you are not taking anything from them, though I wouldn't download films etc as it may slow it down).

If you want Internet prior to the ARAMCO Internet access, you can go to Mobily or the STC office and purchase a USB access or a wireless modem. Best to ask your neighbors which one they use, different company works best in different parts of the camp.

There is quite a good covee of 4G signal from STC in Abqaiq. So their routers work well. Not sure about Mobily or Zain. Unfortunately the 1800 frequency iPhone is not covered by STC (only 2300 frequency), so no 4G signal for iPhone in Abqaiq, only 3G, though 4G is ok in parts of Dammam or Khobar.

hardyjamel.Hi, Is it possible to buy the STC 4G wireless router in Abqaiq or you need to buy it in STC shops in Dammam or Khobar? Also do you need the Iqama to buy the wireless router? I guess that for iPhone you can buy a SIM card in Abqaiq without the Iqama, isn't it??. Thanks. BR.

You can buy voice/internet SIM card or 3G/4G modem packages without iqama (with temporary ID and passport/entry visa copy) at STC/Mobily/Zain in Dhahran only. Each sim card has to be registered to an iqama. The mobile operators in Dhahran can sell you SIM cards using your passport credentials (so this is temporary) though you have to convert it to your iqama once you have it. Otherwise, the SIM card will be activated after a month or so. SIM cards are not available in ABQ camp. The ABQ commissary only sells top-up credits, no SIM cards.

Hi Everyone,
I was looking at the TV Cable companies available on the Compound and it seems that OSN is the only one. Is my appreciation correct? I guess that european football (soccer for Americans) is not precisely the most popular sport on OSN. Do anyone know whether a different company offer a good football package?
Thanks in advance..

OSN is not the only satellite provider available. For European football covee you would want the new beIN Sports package (used to be Al Jazeera).

As much as I enjoyed watching English Premier League or Spain's La Liga on weekends, it would be different altogether with weekends falls on Thursdays and Fridays in KSA. Watching recorded games is no fun Oh well....
