Really very comprehensive!,
I'm receiving an offer to join and I'm really into the sport of fencing, I don't see the activity in the groups so I thought a fencing club may be available outside the compound, in the city.
Is that something people do?, join activities outside of the compound with locals ? or is there some recommendation against? or a crazy thing to do
Sorry if the question sounds silly, but I've seen your useful posts and replies and activities outside the compound seem to be restricted to shopping or dining, not much of regular interaction.

There are a few activities outside in the local community, but not many. If you find enough interest in fencing, you can go through Recreation and start a group yourself.

If you have an ARAMCO ID and are an GC 11+ you may participate in Aramco compound activities. Rakkah residents can participate in the DHA activity groups. The other compounds have their own groups and it would depend if you want to travel to DHA to participate from ABQ, RT, and UDH.
If you are a contractor living in a non ARAMCO compound and do not have an ARAMCO ID, you may not participate.

First you have to be in KSA. Then you will have a list of Self directed groups in your home when you arrive with contact information. If not you can pick up a list from the Community Information Center.

Can someone please ping me contact details for the International Investment Group (listed above)?
I have tried CIC / Recreation but no SDG of this name is listed with them.

Once you are n KSA, go to Community Information Center, there is one in each compound. Ask for a list of self directed groups. There is a contact person for each group. If it is not on the list for this year, the group has disbanded. The list above was from 2013, there are rules each group has to meet in order to stay an active group.
