Anyone in Rakkah interested in getting together to get a taxi / car pool arrangement for elementary school? I feel one hour is too long for the kids in the morning and a car should not take more than 30 minutes. One way trip is SAR 35 by taxi. With 3 families sharing, it would be 12 SAR per family per day, or 60 SAR per week or 240 SAR per month. This seems reasonable given the extra 30 minutes at least in the morning. One of the moms could accompany the kids each day, alternating between families.

Won't it make it hard to make a case for a separate elementary bus if kids start taking taxis?
Taxis aren't always available time-wise unless you hire a private driver.
I would be far more concerned about my kids' safety in a taxi each day than in an Aramco bus. For a 30 minute time difference, the hassles and hazards of taxi travel each day wouldn't be worth it, if it were my family.

If the elementary bus will indeed be separated by the end of the year, that probably reduces commute time by 15 minutes or so, which would be a great outcome. Safety is a valid concern for sure.
Is there any update on timing for the separation of the two buses?

sss, my husband and I were also considering a private driver for our two children once they start elementary school. An hour's commute is just far too draining for little ones.

We will be moving out by the end of the year and will want to commute with our 11 year old daughter. Would be very interested in this or a similar arrangement.

Aramco is getting ready to spilt up the bus route into two different ones so they dont have to leave so early. Both buses should have a bus monitor.
