o everyone,
I just interviewed at a GC14 level in Houston this past Monday. I am expecting word any day now. i have been quite impressed with all that I researched in the last week. I noticed that all of the promotional videos are very nicely done (communications professional with over 27 years exp.). However, I am quite curious as to why I see just about every nationality represented but African-American in those pieces. The overwhelming mantra screams DIVERSITY. So my questions are....
1. What is the level of African American diversity in the company? And are they considered "brown" people just like the natives?
2. Can someone speak to the level of housing for a single male at GC14 status?
3. How aggressive should one be in negotiations?
4. Would an African-American single man have a decent experience working for the company or is that a long shot?
5. How long do you have to be employed before you're allowed to take vacation days?
6. Is it difficult to travel your family members in to visit? (my case is two children from previous marriage)
7. Is there an educational allowance for private high school and/or any university.
8. Is there a positive influence on continuing education for employees (e.g. masters, phd)
I know its quite a bit of questions but anyone feel free to address one or all of them. Thank you for your effort.

I will answer what I can. There are Africans here, and African-Americans here. They may not be writing on the forum. Honestly do not know if they are considered brown like the locals.
2. One bedroom townhouse with living area/ dining area combined, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, possible study.
3. If your salary does not at least match your current salary it is negotiable by writing a letter and resubmitting your pay stubs. If it isn't what you wanted you can always try, they may say no. Housing assignment and location is not usually negotiable. People have tried, answer usually no.
4. Do not know what you mean by decent experience, sorry.
5. If you depart from home to come to Aramco by Dec. 31, 2013, you will received a paid repat vacation in 2014. If you leave for Aramco on or after Jan 1, 2014, then you will receive a paid repat vacation in 2015. Vacation time is subject to supervisor approval.
6. Single status men, may apply for a visitor visa for their children to visit.
7. I do not think Single status employees are not eligible for EAP (Education Assistance Program).
8. Aramco does have a tuition reimbursement education program, but it requires dept. approval to receive it.
Hope this helps.
