Can some of the recent arrivals please generally summarize key steps upon first time arrival in Dhahran? For example:
- Any documents to be filled out en route - What are the key documents asked for by the immigration officers? (aside from passport of course) - Does someone help you get your luggage or do you do it yourself? - Do the people at immigration take away your passports and you dont have them when you get to your home? - Is there someone from Aramco waiting when you exit immigration to take you to your house? - When you have arrived, how do you know where to go for work and when? And what are the key documents to take?
Thanks a lot for your help!

You will find the information your relocation adviser provides to have all of the pertinent information, but arrival is simple.
1) Fill out the arrival card. You will need this. 2) Have your documentation ready. This means everything they tell you to have. 3) Be VERY patient. The process is usually long and involves standing in a line in the arrivals area for quite a while. 4) There is an Aramco meeting area at the airport - just follow the instructions you are provided.
The details are straight forward. There are porters there whom you will need to tip who can assist you with your luggage. They are helpful because they know where to go once you are through the entire process. You will retain your passport after immigration, which is a good thing, and the Aramco rep will assist you with the rest of the process once you get to the Aramco arrival lounge. This process is easy.
Some work areas will send someone to greet you, others will simply instruct you to get into a taxi. Just follow the instructions for this process again. Aramco relocation advisers are familiar with the process and deviating from their advice/instructions is not a good thing!
For your first work day, someone will likely come get you and take you there. You will also have an orientation in your community (or Dhahran) which is covered in your relocation information for particulars.
For the most part, don't worry about the details. The only real thing to watch for is to read everything before you sign so you know what you are signing - if you have questions, ask whomever is asking you to sign. Be sure all information you need for comfort is in writing so it is clear to you and something you fully agree with - this should be standard practice for any employment though.
