Hi guys,
I've been following the forum for a while now but only just registered today. It's given me a wealth of information (thanks to all of you who post) but I have not seen many recent posts regarding secretaries in Aramco.
I applied for a secretarial position on Monday and got a phonecall on Tuesday inviting me to an interview next week. I'm a little nervous to say the least as I expected a long wait and I guess I wasn't planning on it moving this fast yet. I know during the interview there will be a presentation giving more information on life in the Kingdom and the role of Secretaries but I wanted to hear what it's like from those that actually work there now. What's an avee day like as a secretary? Are you, as an expat, treated any differently from your Saudi counterparts? What do you think of the Kingdom outside of the compound walls? Do you travel a lot? Save a lot?
Sorry for so many questions!
Will any of you be attending the London interview next Thursday?
Thanks in advance, Liz

Liz,
I recommend you do a search on "secretaries". There have been a few over the last couple of years posting on the forum.
Best wishes for a successful interview!

Liz
I arrived in Kingdom yesterday evening and it is all very lovely so far, from interview (2 July) to move (23 Sep) that was my time scale as my BI checks took a little longer than expected.
If you need anything further then please feel free to PM me as I would be more than happy to share my experiences once I start having them
Good luck with the interview
Jo xx

Thanks vpainter,
I did a search but there were no recent posts on life as a secretary. Understandably they seem to go quiet once working in Saudi!
Thanks again for your wishes

Hi Jo, Thank you for responding. Wow that was a quick turnaround! As I'm still a newbie, I don't think I can PM you yet...I need to boost my post count first! What's your apartment like? When do you actually start working? How are you adjusting to the weather so far? When do you actually start work? Have you had an orientation around the compound or office yet? I will PM you as soon as I get PM privileges as I have so many questions! Thanks, Liz x
