My husband had an interview on 7/26/13. He contacted the recruiter 3 weeks ago and told him that they are preparing for sending offer to him. So far we haven't received anything from them. We also found that Johns Hopkins became joint venture to Aramco medical (SAMSO?)in end of August. Is that really affect hiring process? Is anybody know what is going on inside of SAMSO at this point?
Thank you.

The John Hopkins joint venture starts in January.
I do not know if it has affected any hiring.

I am in the same situation. Email received stating that I would receive an offer shortly on 8/26. Still nothing. I also informed them that I had other offers and I would wait as long as possible before responding but it seems to be taking too long.
My recruiter says my offer has been approved in the system for nearly 2 weeks.... Not sure what that means but I am fearful that I am being strung along.

I am in a similar position. I interviewed in Washington DC on 9/28 with Gas Operations and I was told that I was was a fit for their company, but that I was severely over-qualified for the position. They did mention that there was another department that was hiring that I would be a "perfect fit" for. They were impressed that I have already lived in Saudi for a year.
I have seen that sometimes people get offers for positions that they did not initially interview for. I just wanted to know if this is possible here or would I most likely hope to get another in-person interview. I expect to hear something within 3 weeks if not sooner.

I interviewed for a SAMSO position in February and did not receive an offer until the end of August. There was communication throughout asking for clarification of documents and references, etc. prior to the actual offer. Apparently for certain positions they need an exceptional number of approvals before an offer can be extended.
They have told me that I will be an aramco hire not a JH hire, even if I arrive in KSA after the first of the year. The recruiter was not sure at this time what the differences between the contracts would be, if any.
Good luck!

Thanks for the response. It will be interesting to see what happens, and until I hear back, I am applying to other positions that match my expertise. I do IT and BA/BSA work, so fingers crossed.

Well, we heard back that no offer is coming at this time. I was over-qualified for the position. Now to look for other positions and wait for those that I applied to, to release so that I can apply again. I have reached the Submission Limit of 5 positions. I am a 26+ yr IT Professional.
