Hi everybody,
Like many people here I am waiting for the Visa block! Ive been offered a position as engineer, family contract.
I asked my reloc agent if my pregnant wife and baby can travel with me to KSA. The answer was; 'normally' i should go first and once i get my Iqama i can apply for theirs. For sure there has to be an other way, I have been reading here on the forum that many people could bring there family. So what i want to know: Do i have to ask my relocation agent to get a visa invitation paper for my wife and baby together with mine? Or I have to get them an entry visa without the help of Aramco and once in KSA apply for there Iqama... But like this im afraid they will have to leave the Kingdom and enter again? Me and my baby are European and my wife is Egyptian, if this would help anyhow.
Can anyone help me on this one please?
And if i arrive in RT, i will get immediately the 3BR house or after the probation period only?
Thanks!

Aramco is requiring some employees to come first and then apply for the family's visas. If you need them to travel with you, put it in writing to your relocation agent. Let them know that is how you will come. Be prepared, they could say no. A remote possibility the offer could be withdrawn, I am not saying it would happen, but it could possibly be a result, but I wouldn't think so. For them to come to Aramco they have to have a sponsor, since you are not currently not in KSA, you cannot be their sponsor until after you arrive. Aramco helps families come for their employees.

My understating is that, whether family can travel with employee or not is not up to Aramco, it is rather the Saudi embassy in the country where you obtaining the work visa from. I know that for us in Australia, we cannot take our families with us initially. We have to sponsor our families once we get our Iqaama (residency) in Saudi. From reading the forum, I figured that Saudi embassies in the US and UK do allow employees to take their families with them in the initial travel.

For me ,however, and via phone call they told me you have to travel alone first and apply for them from KSA. They said only doctor and university professor can go together with family. I based on kuala lumpur and very worry that I may stuck single in KSA for long time and my kids should go to school while my wife can't survive alone with such duty. I am thinking to link my reassignment with family arrival but not sure
Thanks

For some nationalities it is a requirement that the employee comes first. You can try to get your families to come with you, but if it is a government issue and not a company issue, you have no negotiating power.
You will have to take the job on their terms or turn it down.
Women are stronger than you think. They survive, it may not be easy, but they find they can make it. Hopefully they will be able to follow quickly.

VP and other What if you stuck in KSA for more than 90 days without family. Who is going to take the responsibility after you already get in such trouble and already lost your previous employer ?? Who is going to secure ur right and get you compensated for you trouble in case you stuck without family. I am really concern about that and thinking to turn down the offer ?!!

You must do what is best for your family. No one can tell you what that is except you. Coming to work for ARAMCO is not for everyone. Those who do come and make it through the hiring process and the time it takes to get their family here, usually are glad they did. But there are a few who are not happy and leave.
Only you know what your family can handle. Only you can decide what is best for you and your family.
There are no guarantees your family will make it into the kingdom in 90 days. It could take a shorter to longer time just as it does the employee.

I was told by HR that as of 3 weeks ago, it is no longer possible to convert a spouses visit visa to residence visa a spreviously. And the visit visa is a once-off. They come in once, then that's it. I'm not European or US, so maybe they are different? This is irritating, because a residency visit takes forever. Can someone confirm this?
