Hi everyone
maybe somebody has gone through this before: I have to pack up my stuff at my current office and will have a couple of small boxes basically with engineering books, manuals, notes etc.
My current employer has no problem in keeping the boxes here until I have the details of my office in KSA, so I thought I would have them sent by courier by Aramco (as I said, it is materials I use for work).
I just asked the question to my relocation advisor and was a bit surprised by the answer, she basically said that Aramco does not pay for any shipment other than my personal effects and that in my case (I selected cash in lieu) I shall either bring the books on my check-in baggage or use some of cash-in-lieu money to organise my own shipment
Doesn't make sense to me but maybe that's the way it works; for previous change in employer (including to different countries) I never had such a problem!
Anyone had such an issue before?

you selected cash in lieu, right? you need to pay for the shipment whether your stuff is work related or not.

Thank you for your reply. As I said, I just wanted to know if somebody has come across this situation before, not to start a debate on what shall or shall not be provided by Aramco.
In any case I tend to disagree with your point, let's suppose I selected the "shipping" option: if my shipment departs before I complete my current assignment, I would need my work materials with me to perform my duties with my current employer until the last day of employment.
Anyway not a big problem.

If you took the shipping option and happen to be still working by the time you were packed up and your shipment left, then you would bring your work related books, etc with you as part of your checked luggage. Aramco would not give you another shipment for those items.
