For those who've requested 220v outlets in RT, how long was your wait?
We requested ours almost 2 months ago (we currently have 1 in the kitchen and 1 for the washer/dryer). We checked back with them this week and were told it would be 'at least a few more weeks'.
110v items are getting harder and harder to find, I hope they get this fixed soon...

Hi,
I'll be arriving with family in a couple of weeks from Canada.
Some questions please (from my wife):
1) Does anyone have any update on how long it is taking to have more 220 V outlets put in?
2) Should I buy a microwave and other kitchen appliances (small) from here as opposed to Saudi where I've read kitchen stuff with 110 V is scarce?
3) The one outlet that is 220 V in the kitchen - can I put a microwave in it? (i.e. is it near counter space or in an awkward place?)
4) Also, can I use one of those extensions to give me more outlets from the main 220 V outlet? (the one that sticks in it and gives you 2 or 3 outlets for example)
Thanks in advance for your help!

I just moved into a detached house in RT and there are two grey colored outlets that only have 2 "sideways" prongs as opposed to the US-style "vertical" prongs. Can anyone tell me what the voltage is for that style?

Most of the 220V plugs installed in DHA have been two side ways prong and a top vertical prong.
Instead of trusting anyone on this forum to tell you the voltage, call maintenance and ask them, if they say they do not know, then ask for an electrician to come test them and tell you.
