As a potential new hire, I'm curious about the prices of major household items, i.e. beds, lamps, mattresses, chairs, etc. If we do not already own them, does it make sense to wait and buy in KSA or are the prices and selection so prohibitive as to make it wise to buy in the US and ship?

If you don't own it already, then I think it's better to just buy here. Plus, you may find some great deals on used items from expats who are leaving.

there are loads of places in khobar to buy furniture of all different styles and at different prices. I've certainly found it to be generally cheaper than the UK
