Hi All, I was offered a engineer 1 position in last round of Kensington hotel, Holland Park, London interview sessions as a contractor which I accepted on the spot (about a week ago). I have now sent forms such as background check etc. By visiting this forum, I have realised credit check is part of the background check. I was a victim of recent recession and lost my job at the time and built up credit card bills etc. which I am paying via debt agencies. My credit history is definitely poor but I dont have CCJ or bankruptcy etc. I really want this job and worst part is, I told a lot of people that I am moving to Saudi soon including some at work. Can you please advise? Anyone knows? Anyone went through with poor credit history. Please help. Thank you.

Each person is evaluated individually. They may ask for clarifications or more information if there are questions.

I can tell you that various people I know, came to work here with outstanding debts. Whether they had what you would classify as a "poor credit history" I couldn't say. But just having debts is not necessarily a deal-breaker.
There are no guarantees however, as vpainter said every case is evaluated separately.

Thanks to vpainter and Grovewanderer for taking time to answer here, appreciated. I will keep you posted. I guess it will take few weeks from now to finalise. In your experience here, do you have any idea about initial offer and rejection after all the checks are done? Thanks in advance for replying.
Best regards..

There have been rejections after the initial offer has been made when something in the BI or medical prevents approval. It is not a regular occurrence, but does happen. Each person is evaluated on an individual basis.

Whoever is the background investigator follows whatever Aramco wants to know. Then the information is evaluated on an individual basis. If a credit check is a part of that list, then it is checked. I personally do not know if a credit check is on the list.
It has been asked quite often over the years. Do a search on the forum and contact users who have previously asked about it. They may not be active on the forum at present but would probably answer an email.

o Tariq,
I have been working here for last 9 months now - I have not heard anything else. So I guess its not really something you need to worry about. However I dont have CCJ or bankruptcy. Best of luck..

Hi,
I have been recently asked to come for an interview and just anxious about the BI stage.
I stayed in US from 2001-2003 and my student visa was rejected so I had to travel back to my home country. I had few payment left on my credit card ( 200-400) USD and couldnt pay the bill.
So if anyone with US credit information please advise.
