We were advised by the Relocation Advisor that the furniture at Ar-Rakah is provided free for good. I'd like to know: ONE: If we'd have the housing all furnished regardless we opt for shipping or cash-in-lieu? TWO: If we select cash-in-lieu, and ship (air or surface) some of the household items, what's the most cost-effective solution? Anyone who has done it this way, could you please let me know the approximate cost and name of the shipping company? We'd be moving from Toronto, Canada. THREE: How much would air-shipment cost per piece (size of a suitcase)? What are most people doing when they want to keep the furniture provided by Aramco but still want to ship some of daily use items (such as pots and pans)? Thanks in advance!

Furniture in Rakkah is not dependent on taking a shipment or cash in lieu. It is there for your use as long as you want it.
Many who have come have found that bringing those extra items in as excess luggage is very close to the same cost as shipping it. The difference being one arrives when you do, the other you wait for.
Cash in lieu has been discussed in previous posts. I encoue you to do a search in the forum for the information.
