Still waiting for degree to be attested from State HRD, looks like degree attestation from Saudi embassy is challenging these days when its done via distance mode.
Anyone of forum who knows can you please help with below query :
What if degree is not attested , can one still get visa rather I should say what is the need of attestation of degree attestation. Is that what Aramco is asking for or its something government thing
Thanks

Hi everyone! Could you tell me how did you manage to work in KSA if they are not attesting distance education degrees? Or what else you did?

Iqbal,
Since the Saudi's are not recognizing degrees obtained through distance education, I think it's safe to say that everyone successfully working in the KSA as a degreed professional physically attended a certified University or College (or they managed to hood-wink the authorities, and are subject to censure if discovered). The Saudi's (and others) are really starting to crack down on fake degrees and non-traditional education backgrounds, sometimes excessively so and in some cases where the non-traditional education may be more useful than a full physical-presence degree.

There are many cases of fake degrees. Most from India and from that region. It's a big business. Google it.

It's all distance learning degree - I have BSc (Hons) from Open University UK which is unrecognised here although more than reputable in the UK and was told that there is no point doing my Masters this way.

I just went through the degree attestation process recently, and they were very clear. I had to provide a Method of Study letter from my school that clearly stated that I attended my classes inside an actual classroom. The adviser actually rejected the first letter I gave her, because it was not clear how I attended classes. They are simply rejecting all forms of distance learning. It's a shame because there are some very good distance learning programs here in the US, but it appears that even those are being rejected.
