Hi there. I've been given a job offer (but IMHO, a lower salary level to what I'm qualified and experienced in). I need some insight on a few things please, anyone. * Is SAR 84K housing allowance sufficient for family (wife + 3 teenage kids), i.e. What can you get? * Does an employee and family take up residence in one of the "Aramco Communities"? * Must an employee arrange for housing on their own or does Aramco do this on employees behalf? * What is an "Annual Supplement Benefit" (as an additional allowance) in plain English, mean? * Is "Transportation Allowance" like a car allowance or something else? I have previously worked in Jeddah for about 3 years as an ex-pat for a different company and somehow the SAR 84k seems on the low side but I'm not certain if the Dhahran housing market is totally different to other regions, hence my question. I have 4 days left to accept/reject the offer as per due process and would LOVE some insight and such URGENTLY, please. Thank you.

Are you a direct hire with Aramco or hired through a contract company? Getting a housing allowance sounds like a contract company employee.

Thanks for the speedy reply. I am a direct hire, hence "my confusion". -Does it make sense? :?

84K SAR for housing is not enough to rent in a compound in Khobar but like Vpainter said, if you are direct Aramco employee, the offer will not specify housing allowance amount!

o Vpainter I am a 32 years old single guy slated to join Aramco trading in Al Midra. In similar situation as the gentleman in the post. Please send the same email to me, appreciate that.
1) Been told that Al-khobar is the place to stay. Please tell me the top 5 compound names where most single people choose to stay. Also roughly the price of a one bedroom apartment there. 2) Is there a good forum to find fellow expats and discover a sharing possibility ? Ideally a two bedroom villa/apartment on shared basis. 3) how is the public transport ? Is the taxi available on call easily ? 4) What is the usual cost of living ? Assuming eating out all the time, laundry service , groceries , taxi all inclusive?
Any pointers are appreciated.

o,
What is the best way to seek opportunities within Aramco trading specifically?
Do they have a separate website? Is there any career section on the official website?
Thanks .

There are two websites listed at the bottom of the index page on this forum, everyone applies on the websites, through a recruiter or at job fairs which are listed on those websites when occurring.
All jobs available are on the websites.

Thank you Vpainter for your reply.
I thought that the trading arm had a specific website or a list of specific headhunters dealing with opportunities.

Hi mafr2013 .
To my knowledge (and personal experience), the positions at AT are sourced through the Aramco Careers section on the website. It doesn't distinguish between Aramco and Aramco Trading on the job listings as far as I know.
Hope this helps.
